Ultimate GRP Nosings

Our Ultimate GRP Stair Nosings are virtually indestructible and can be used to cover internal and external stair nosings. They are screw fixed in conjunction with adhesive mastic providing a corrosion resistant nose to improve the safety of step treads. Ultimate GRP Stair Nosings offer excellent slip resistance due to the carbon grit, which is chemically bonded to the top surface.

Ultimate GRP Stair Nosings meet Building Regulations with a nosing of 55mm x 55mm, have a tapered edge and can therefore be fitted to almost any step without creating a trip hazard. Our cost effective nosing’s are a good long term solution to ensuring the guidlines, set out by the Disability Discrimination Act Part III and in particular, the sections relevant to the partially sighted, are met.

What does PTV mean?

PTV stands for Pendulum Test Value. Following guidelines set out by the HSE and UK Slip Resistance Group, a pendulum instrument is used to measure the slip resistance of a surface and gives a value called the PTV value. Anything above 36 is deemed as low risk on a level surface.  

Can they cause a trip hazard?

An excellent question, there are many on the market that cause this issue, but our carefully crafted design features a tapered edge, thus dramatically reducing the chances of a trip fall.

Where do Oltco install?

We are based in the southwest, but we install throughout the whole of the U.K. Oltco do not charge mileage on jobs and are happy to install anything from a small domestic staircase to a large commercial factory.
